Season 5 of The Masked Singer Brasil is set to premiere on January 12, 2025 and is set to conclude on April 6, 2025.[3]

Production

At the end of last season, TV Globo announced that the series was renewed for a fifth season. On May 18, 2024, Ivete Sanagalo announced that she was not going to continue her job as the host for the fifth season of the show, due to wanting to take more time for herself and her family. Instead of her, Eliana was announced to take her place as the host. On December 22, 2024, a christmas special occured, which officially formalized her as the new host.[4] On September 2, 2024, the previous regular panelist Taís Araújo also confirmed to leave the show in 2025, to film for a telenovela.[5]

On September 25, 2024, it was announced the season was going to have a special dynamic, considering the 60 year celebration of TV Globo, there will be contestants based and inspired on popular telenovela characters from TV Globo. The three confirmed characters were Foguinho, from "Cobras & Lagartos", Nazaré, from "Senhora do Destino" and Sol, from "Vai na Fé".[6]

On August 15, 2024, it was announced the release date of the fifth season, which is set to start on January 12, 2025 with a total of 12 episodes. It was also confirmed that the Brazilian actor Tony Ramos would replace José Loreto, and that Sabrina Sato would continue her job as a panelist during the fifth season.[7]

On August 16, 2024, during TV Globo's annual conference, it was revealed that the costumes of the season would be, indeed, resembling the famous telenovela characters from TV Globo, revealing more characters and the design of the already known contestants. They also revealed five new contestants, one being a duo, alongside the return of Brazilian actress Tatá Werneck as a panelist, replacing Taís Araújo and Brazilian singer Belo replacing Paulo Vieira.[8]

On November 13, 2024, a special tease was published, confirming the position of Eliana as the host, the set of panelists, the confirmation of Kenya Sade as the backstage host and a new contestant, Vlad from the telenovela Vamp.[9]

On November 28, 2024, during TV Globo's daily program Encontro com Patrícia Poeta, it was revealed the contestants Jade, from the telenovela O Clone and the duo Policarpo e Candinho, from the telenovela Êta Mundo Bom!.

    • to not have Taís Araújo as a panelist;

  • This is the first season in the international franchise to feature mostly human-based contestants, inspired by famous telenovela characters.
    • Currently, the only exception is Policarpo from the duo Policarpo e Candinho, who is a donkey.
