Season 1 of the Panamanian version of La Máscara was announced in 2019, premiered on August 17, 2022 and concluded on October 31, 2022.

Production

In September 25, 2019, TVN announced ¿Quién es la Máscara? , announcing a total of 10 contestants who would compete in the show. However, on March 28, 2020, it was announced that production on the season was suspended indefinitely following positive test results of COVID-19 among its talent and production team. Development for the show returned in 2022, with an official starting date and 14 contestants instead of 10.

Golden Magnifying Glass

Through the season, the panelists were competing in their own contest for the "Golden Magnifying Glass", the Panamanian version of the "Golden Ear Trophy". The panelist with the most correct guesses throughout the season would receive the Golden Magnifying Glass. At the end of the season, however, they did not announce the winner of the "Golden Magnifying Glass". It was later revealed that Sra. Dezdy got the Golden Magnifying Glass, uncovering 9 celebrities out of the 14 contestants.

Trivia

• Panama is one of the few TMS countries that does live episodes, with the whole audience being able to vote for their favorites.
• Back to the original 2019 version, there was a contestant who was shown on the official Facebook page, named "León" (Lion). For reasons unknown, the costume wasn't utilized in the final version.
• None of the Colombia-based replicas reached finale (Miguel Melfi as Coco Loco and Iván Barrios as Caimán), meanwhile both Chile-based reused costumes (José Miguel Castro as Bola Disco and Miroslava Morales as Pop Corn) reached finale.
  • Ironically enough, both Colombia-based replicas were eliminated back to back.
• Unlike most international seasons, the prize for winning ¿Quién es la Máscara? Panamá wasn't just the Golden Mask Trophy. Instead, the winner (José Miguel Castro as Bola Disco) won $10.000 and a car.
  • The third place (Miroslava Morales as Pop Corn) won $3.000 and the runner-up (Kathy Phillips as Muñeca) won $5.000. Because of this, ¿Quién es la Máscara? Panamá is one of the few countries where everyone in the podium won a prize.
