Rita Sahatçiu Ora is a panelist on the British version of The Masked Singer Season 1, 2, 3 4, and 5 (however due to other commitments she only appears in select episodes of the fifth series of the UK iteration of the show), and a panelist for Season 11, and 12 of the American version, replacing Nicole Scherzinger. She was also absent on the season 12 semifinals due to illness.
Biography[]
Rita Ora first started her career as an actress portraying Rosanna in Spivs, Jaclyn Livermore in The Brief & Leylah in Bombshell.
Rita has notably released three studio albums; 2012’s Ora, 2018’s Phoenix & 2023’s You & I. Rita wrote Gabriella Cimi’s single “Invisible Girl” in 2010 & Stacey Solomon’s “Shy” in 2015. Rita featured on DJ Fresh’s single “Hot Right Now”, K Koke’s “Lay Down Your Weapons”, Iggy Azalea’s “Black Widow”, Charli XCX’s “Doing It”, Charles Hamilton’s “New York Raining”, Avicii’s “Lonely Together”, Sofia Reyes & Anitta’s “R.I.P”, Kygo’s “Carry You”, Tiësto and Jonas Blue’s “Ritual”, Sigala’s “You For Me”, Fatboy Slim’s “Praising You”, Joel Corry and MK’s “Drinkin’” & Gryffin’s “Last of Us”. Rita was also famously one of the artists who made up BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge All Stars who released a version of “Times Like These” originally by Foo Fighters amidst the COVID-19 pandemic to combat the effects of the pandemic.
Rita has had roles as panellists, coaches and judges on several competition programmes such as The Voice UK, The X Factor, RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars & The Voice Australia. Rita has also hosted America’s Next Top Model, Boy Band & the MTV Europe Music Video Awards.
Rita would later return to her acting career portraying Maria Escobar in Southpaw, Mia Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker & Fifty Shades Freed; colloquially known as the Fifty Shades Franchise, Dr. Ann Laurent in Pokémon Detective Pikachu, Dodger in Twist, the voices of both Luthera & The Thundering Blade in the animated series Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight, Yana in Wonderwell & the Queen of Hearts in Descendants: The Rise of Red.
