“It’s pretty scary being underwater. Have you met the other p-piranhas? Always s-snapping at you! Also the motion makes me a little sick, I’m not kidding! I dream of getting away. With plenty of fish in the sea. I’d rather be elsewhere! Somewhere with more st-stability! It’s no laughing matter! It’s so much safer out here, or at least I thought it was. This place is just petrifying! Not to mention, I’m terrified of what you’ll think when you get to look at my singing! Ooh that seagull’s looking at me funny-AAAH!”

“That performance last week was everything I could’ve dreamed of! I really confused the panel. It shows that practicing my scales has really paid off. I was a little nervous out there larking about on stage. But then again, everything makes me a little n-nervous.. I’m not ready to be taken home! Who wants to be stuck in the amazon?! All thousand of leagues under the sea! Oough! People think piranhas are scary but I’m the only one that’s frightened of my own sh-sh-shadow! It must be a world record, the others hah hah!- Have this piranha. I’ve got to get myself into gear and show that I’m a different kettle of fish! WOAUGH! What was that?!”

“Is this a dream? Is this a fantasy?? I don’t want to get caught just yet! It doesn’t take much to get my knees knocking and my body rocking, but this is fin-tastic! Standing up in-front of the dads and mums and daughters and the rest. I’m not letting stage fright freeze me in place. WAAH! A piranha is usually less barker more biter but I’m such a nervous fish I should see a doctor to master my fears. There’s still a fair way to go. My goal is to just keep swimming. Please give me your love tonight! Not another seagull! Me no likey! AHH!!”

“Last week, the panel had some strong guesses! But I don’t think they’re on my tail just yet! Some might say, I’m so-fish-ticated. Fancy? Me? In these PJs? I hope I’ve shown some talent, no reality check needed. I am willing to do a lot to make sure this panel don’t guess me! Things can be tough when you’re a panicky p-piranha. Ohhh! Aah! You might notice a theme, I’m still a brit nervous! But I’m not about to bolt, although biting my tongue is leaving it a little sore! Ow! Uhh! Aah!!”

“It’s the semi finals, and I can’t believe I’m here! I don’t want to leave cause I’m making BIG waves in the pond! Time to rock and roll, I’m not ready to write myself off! And I’ve been dreaming day and night about my next performance! I really hope it has the desired effect. I am really excited plus a little, hoo, nervous if it goes badly! But I’m not going to potter about. Once more around the block! Ooaurgh! Okay, this scardilocks might have to call mum! Is trying to work out who I am driving you around the river-bed?”

“Not in my fish’s dreams did I see myself in the final! Have the panel guessed me right? There must be something in the water, because I’m totally in sync with my emotions! I’ve been chasing status in this competition. I’ve been going it alone! Which is a little, oooh, scary. Because piranhas like to swim with fishy friends: a band of brothers, in the lakes and rivers! We’re real head turners! But on dry land, woah! Scary piranhas weren’t born to run! Even though we can kick it on the pitch. Tonight is the night, time for the performance of my life!”

Bedtime Story
8
Once upon a time, there lived a Piranha. He was unlike any other piranha, he was scared, of everything! The other piranhas were big and fierce. But Piranha knew he had a secret weapon, his incredible cooking skills. So with trembling fins, Piranha took a deep breath and began to cook. Chopping and stirring and sizzling all day long! When the scary piranhas tasted his fishy feast, their eyes widened in amazement! Their smiles teething! From that day forward, Piranha’s cooking skills and bravery were celebrated. He wasn’t scared of the other fish anymore, he really was the fish of the day.

When Piranha was announced as the winner, "Feels So Good" by Shane Codd & Bryn Christopher was played.
This marks the third time in the UK Series in which a song that the winner did not previously sing in the competition was played after they won, as in Queen Bee's case "Alive" by Sia, and in the case of Sausage, "Skin" by Rag'n'Bone Man was played, which both winners had sung during the competition, however for Panda, "Cut To The Feeling" by Carly Rae Jepsen and for Rhino, "Remind Me" by Tom Grennan which they had never sung during the competition was played.
Piranha is the sixth UK Contestant who doesn't need the costume's head to be revealed, with the first being Octopus, the second being Viking, the third being Rubbish, the fourth being Dunny, and the fifth being Dippy Egg. In Piranha's case, the faceplate needs to be removed to reveal the celebrity.
In April 2024, The Masked Singer’s host Joel Dommett ran the London Marathon whilst wearing the Piranha costume.
Additionally in 2024, both Danny Jones (Piranha) and LeAnn Rimes (Sun) became coaches on the thirteenth season of the UK iteration of The Voice with Danny being one half of that iteration's first duo coaches with the other half being his McFly bandmate Tom Fletcher.
Additionally, on a episode of The Voice which aired in September 2024, when asked if he had any input with regards to the mask he stated if he wasn’t the Piranha he was offered the opportunity to be Bush.
The costume of a Bush would later debut in Series 6, though they were played by Natalie Cassidy.
