The Octopus costume resembles a standard brightly coloured octopus. Across the whole octopus, there are multi-coloured balls that graduate, in colour, down the tentacles. The face of the octopus features large feminine teal eyes and red lips, which can be turned around. Two of the tentacles are attached to the contestants arms. Underneath the actual octopus is a dark blue/ black skirt that hides the contestant's legs.

Oh my goodness! I'm the octopus. Bubbly, happy-go-lucky and always on the go. So thank god for all these arms. Don't let these arms distract you, I'm equally leggy. They sure do come in handy for making any pier my catwalk. I'd like to be a role model to little octopi everywhere. I'm getting ready to sashimi my way into the competition and give it my all. Look at me go. I feel like Naomi Campbell. I'm hoping this costume is enough to stop you guessing who's underneath. I'm going to go out there and put my best tentacle forward.

I was so pleased with the comments on my last song. The panel said quite a few names. They have no clue. I have never considered that something I loved, could be my job. I'm always learning but I'm certainly no apprentice. To get ahead in this game you need to have a plan, and let me tell you, I mean business. In fact, I used one of my eight hands to shake on a record-breaking deal, which you could say left me squids in. Tonight, I just hope everything goes swimmingly.

In my last performance, I really made a splash. This competition is so crazy. Am I Tyra Banks, we'll see. It's always amazing what you can find washed up on a beach. There's trinkets, gizmos and sometimes even treasure. As an octopus, I don't always spend time in my natural habitat, so it's a good job I have my wellies. They're perfect for all kinds of places. I can wear them on the beach, in the dales and even in the city. I've been known to visit some very dangerous locations, it takes some serious fish guts to do what I've done, but honestly I'm just a regular octopus, a real sweetheart.

Throughout this show, the panel have always really questioned whether I was really American or not. All I have to say about that is, I've always told the truth but I'm also here to play the game, have fun and keep my mask on. Maybe that's my British sense of humour coming through. My job takes me to many places, even back in time. Octopus isn't the only language I've been known to use. You might hear me be lyrical in Russian. Italian, German, Spanish, Welsh, Latin or Mandarin. Tonight, I'm going to go Gaga.

In my last performance, I sang my heart out. But I think the panel, were a little confused. I have been very fortunate to perform for all sorts of people, from pensioners to royalty. I love nothing better than songs of joy. There's nothing like the sound a choir in a beautiful choral venue. But be careful, my voice has been know to bring the house down, literally. Tonight it's the semi-final, and I'm so excited I want to throw my arms in the air, all 8 of them.

In the semi-finals, I hit the high notes and the studio audience voted to see me again tonight, and this octopus couldn't be happier. Tonight, if I win or not, the mask will finally come off. As I step out onto the stage tonight, I feel incredibly grateful to be here. Much like my career, I've had such a good time and I've had a lot of fun. Having lots of arms is useful for all my multi-tasking. It could be playing the piano or just playing mum. Eight arms might seem a lot, but they still aren't enough to count all my achievements. I've even picked some of my musical heroes to the post of my time. I feel like I've dreamed a dream, but it's all true. Whatever happens, tonight I'm going to enjoy being the octopus one last time.

Trivia[]
Octopus is the only series 1 finalist that was at risk of being eliminated earlier in the competition.
She was the first contestant to sing Disney songs.
She is the first opera singer to have competed on the UK Version of the show. She was followed by Mushroom.
The judges also guessed her to be Charlotte Church, who would later compete as Mushroom.
Coincidentally, both are Welsh female opera singers.
Octopus is the first UK contestant who did not need the head to be removed. In Octopus's case, the upper half needs to be removed to reveal the celebrity.
