Ngo-Pa (เงาะป่า) is a costume based on a character that appeared in a Thai traditional play writing from 1906 and a folktale during the 18th century. The character was originally based on an ethnic group, Negrito, in the Southern part of Thailand. As a fictional character, Ngo-Pa depicts exaggeratedly dark skin covered by glitters, round belly, and usually wears red fabric and red flower garlands.
